Edgewood Elementary School, home of the Eagles, is located at the southern edge of the city. It currently serves 352 students and has a rich history, having opened its doors 69 years ago in 1955. The school has expanded over the years, with additions built in 1956, 1966, and 1996. Edgewood is proud to be part of the Michigan City Area School District and is known for its diverse student body, representing various cultures, socio-economic groups, and religious backgrounds.
